Congratulations to the HS Girls on defeating Yates Center! They will either play St Paul or Crest for fifth place at 6:30pm at Iola Elementary!

We know we are in the middle of the midseason tournament but the HS Boys Basketball team is excited to announce an event that will be at EVERY home game for the rest of the season!
During each game in Wildcat Country, the basketball team will sell raffle tickets to those who think they can shoot a half court or three point shot. If your ticket gets drawn and you make the half court shot, you receive 50% of the pot. If you shoot and make a three pointer, you get 25%! Shots will happen during the boys' varsity halftime (after the cheer/dance squad perform, if they perform).
First raffle will be next Tuesday when our Wildcats take on Pleasanton!

Both games will be livestreamed tonight and Ad Astra sent me the graphic below showing that the boys game will also be on the radio. Remember girls play at 3:30 and boys play at 8:00.

The Tech Center will be having classes Thursday 1/18/2024 as scheduled.
The brackets have been updated! Note that it is likely that our boys will be visiting team as we play host Iola although we are on the top part of the bracket. The girls will be the visiting team no matter. Both teams will play at the high school.
Here is the link to IHS's Hudl page where they will livestream the games only at the high school.

Although some may have wished for another snow day, we are so glad to see familiar faces today like Mrs. Wools!

It's time to announce the next Special Olympic event!
On February 13th, NINE(!) of our students ranging from 4th to 10th grade will travel to Pittsburg State University for a basketball skills competition. They compete in spot shot (shooting around the shot rectangle), 10 meter dribble, dribbling for 1 minute (how many dribbles in one minute, and target passing. They practice on Friday afternoons (Jan. 19, 26, and Feb. 2) at the Rec gym in Iola or if weather becomes an issue, in our own gym. The students are very excited and stay tuned for some behind the scenes!

Congratulations to the HS Boys on their win against Cherryvale! They will play at 8:00pm Thursday and against either Iola or St Paul. An updated bracket will be uploaded once we know!

Unfortunately the girls couldn't get the win. They will play at the high school Thursday at 3:30. Opponent is TBD.
