VOLLEYBALL TRAVELS TO MADISON

THREE AREA teams were at Madison Tuesday. Crest went 2-1 taking matches from Marmaton Valley and Yates Center. Crest lost to Madison. Crest defeated Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcats 28-26, 17-25, 25-22. Marmaton Valley beat Yates Center 25-14, 25-19 and lost to Madison 25-18, 25-14.
Yates Center also lost to Madison. “It was a hot ride up there and the gym was hot. We battled but we need to all get healthy,” said Lindsay Ermel, MVHS head coach, whose team is 4-5. Marmaton Valley’s starting setter Molly McEwan is out with a knee injury. Kayla McNutt played with a foot injury Tuesday night.
Maggie Meiwes led the MVHS net attack with 15 kills. Cheyanne Miller had eight kills and 25 set assists. Lydia Lance had 12 assists. McNutt had five kills and five service aces while Hannah Endicott had four kills and five aces.
Morgan Henry served up seven aces and had three kills.
Kaitlin Ensminger served 13 straight points in the win over Yates Center. She had four ace serves.
Kailey Boyd came up with 28 digs and Kacie Shadden had 18 digs.
